Penske Porsche RS Spyders Win Mosport LMP2 And Overall, Clinch 2007 LMP2 Title
August 28, 2007

The team of Timo Bernhard and Romain Dumas claimed the overall victory at Mosport and the second Penske RS Spyder driven by Ryan Briscoe and Sascha Maassen finished second in class and third overall, allowing Penske to clinch the LMP2 title.
The Audi R10 TDI driven by Allan McNish and Dindo Capello lost the lead with only three minutes left when the Audi became stuck in gear. This allowed Bernhard to take the lead in the RS Spyder. The Audi finished first in LMP1 but second overall, 19.5 seconds behind the winners. The second place finish clinched the LMP1 championship for Audi, but lost the overall win to the LMP2 RS Spyder for the seventh straight race.
The Dyson RS Spyders finished seventh and ninth and are in second place in the LMP2 standings.
In GT2, the Flying Lizard Porsche 911 GT3 RSR driven by Jorg Bergmeister and Johannes van Overbeek finished in fifth place after losing a lap to the pace car and being penalized for passing under yellow. This puts them 16 points behind the leading Risi Competizione Ferrari F430 GT team in GT2. The Rahal Letterman Racing Porsche 911 GT3 RSR driven by Tom Milner, Jr. and Ralf Kelleners finished third and was the highest-finishing Porsche in GT2.
