Porsche or Lambo?
August 31, 2007

This “Cayenne” has been seen rocketing around the Nürburgring recently, with reports saying it is actually one of the fastest cars around the ‘ring. But what is it?
A closer look reveals it is some sort of test mule. The body is obviously modified, there are little winglets on at the lower front, the rear wheels are much wider than the front wheels, indicating rear-wheel-drive, and sources say the noise that is makes is absolutely intoxicating. There have also been sightings of several of these mules, in gold, black, blue, green and red. But the sources seem to be divided on what they are actually seeing.
Speculation ranges from some sort of Cayenne RS model to a Lamborghini SUV test mule to a Porsche GT coupe of some sort based on the Panamera platform, being cleverly disguised as a Cayenne.
Judging from the sound they say it is making, the speed it is getting around the ‘ring, and the fact that a Lamborghini SUV would share the Cayenne/Toureg/Q7 platform, my guess is a Lambo SUV prototype with a V-10.
See a few more pictures after the jump.
