Porsche Launches Cinema Site
September 26, 2007

Porsche has launched an interactive application offering movies, music and engine sounds. Well, at least on their German site they have. I haven’t found any sign of this application on the U.S. site, so for now, you’ll have to wade through a bunch of German to get your fix. You’ll not only find movies of their road cars, but lots of ALMS movies featuring the RS Spyder and even a qualifying lap at Le Mans from 1977.
Click here to visit the site. Official press release is after the jump.

Porsche launches own cinema on internet
Interactive application offers films, music and engine sounds
Stuttgart. Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG of Stuttgart, Germany, has a new, interactive application that enables sports-car fans to view official Porsche films from their computers via the company website – there is even a large-screen display option. Porsche Web-Cinema pools all the films about current Porsche models, technology and development. Even the prize-winning films “True to yourself” about the Porsche Cayman S and “No” about the 911 Carrera 4/4S, which were presented with the Golden Camera Award in Hollywood, can be watched on the computer. There are also reports from motor-sport events, for example from the entire American Le Mans Series and the Transsyberia Rally, and narratives about Porsche history available for download. One of the Web-Cinema highlights is a film recorded from a car on the Le Mans track in 1977. Users can even compile a customized cinema schedule from the selection on offer. Porsche Web-Cinema also includes an archive with the engine sounds and music of the Porsche web specials.
