Porsche Brings 108-year-old Electric Car to the L.A. Auto Show
November 15, 2007

Around the turn of the 20th century, there were a lot of electric cars around. However, a particular electric car designed by Ferdinand Porsche was considered revolutionary for the time, and Porsche claims it was the predecessor to the world’s first hybrid vehicle, which was introduced a year later.
Porsche brought this electric car from the Technical Museum in Vienna, Austria, to the L.A. Auto Show this week to sit alongside their new Cayenne Hybrid. Porsche’s electric car was named the “most innovative invention” at the 1900 World’s Fair in Paris, and over 300 were sold. This car has never been on public display outside of Europe, so if you are in Los Angeles this week, stop by and check it out!
