9ff GT9 Faster Than a Veyron
May 12, 2008

The 9ff GT9 has reached the goal of reaching a higher top speed than the Bugatti Veyron. The car reached a top speed of 254 mph during official testing last month, beating the Veyron’s 252 mph. They are still 1 mph shy of the world record for the fastest production car, held by the SSC Ultimate Aero TT.
The 9ff GT9 is based on a 911 GT3, but the layout has been changed from rear- to mid-engined. The body is stretched by 300 mm and the roof is lowered by 120 mm. The twin-turbo 4.2 liter flat-6 produces 987 hp.
Only 20 will be built at a cost of $853,634.
