It’s That Time of the Year Again: F1 Rumors

Like clockwork, rumors about whether or not Porsche will enter Formula 1 surface every year. But this year’s rumor has a twist: it comes straight from Mario Theissen, the head of BMW Motorsports.
According to Theissen, several carmakers are thinking about entering F1, and he specifically mentioned Volkswagen/Audi/Porsche. He says that BMW’s success since buying the Sauber team, combined with the development of the Kinetic Energy Recovery System underway in F1, is causing automakers to take a more serious look at the sport.
Despite what Theissen says, I really doubt Porsche will enter F1 anytime soon. It is just way too expensive.
