Panamera Might Get Targa Top and Diesel Variant
July 22, 2008

It sounds like Porsche is already looking at additional Panamera variants, even though it isn’t showing up until 2010.
An AutoWeek source attended a Porsche focus group and reported Porsche showed renderings of a three-panel targa roof on a Panamera, which would add additional models to the lineup.
Also, in addition to the Panamera hybrid, Porsche seems to be looking into diesel-powered Panameras. These use Audi diesel engines, just like the Cayenne diesel will use. However, it is more likely the Panamera will use either the 4.2 liter V8 TDI or the 6.0 liter V12 TDI.
Man, it sounds like there will be as many Panamera models as there are 911 models!
