So what have we here? Let’s look at some facts first. As we noted earlier, VW CEO (and new Porsche head honcho) has said he wants to add three new models to the Porsche lineup, one of which may be an additional version of the Panamera. We also know that a lot of people don’t like the rear end of the current Panamera.
So, a guy named Theophilus Chin decided to Photoshop together what a Panamera wagon might look like. And you know want? I like it! In fact, I like it much better than the current Panamera.
While it is HIGHLY unlikely that Porsche would ever produce such a car, we can hope can’t we?
Dutch site SpyShots.nl has some more pics of the next generation 911 testing. Not too much can be gained under the disguise, but the shots of the interior are a little disturbing to me–they seem to follow in the footsteps of the Panamera with a million buttons on the center console.
One thing I find funny though is that they cover up the Porsche hood crest. I mean, come on, who on earth can’t tell that is a 911?
The Boxster and Cayman are the latest models from Porsche to get the TechArt treament, with the famed tuner announcing several upgrades for the mid-engine P-cars.
The Aerokit I is a bodykit that features new front and rear spoilers, a sportier exhaust and sport springs. The Aerokit II features different front and rear spoilers from Aerokit I along with new side sills, mirror moldings, and LED daytime running lights. A track-widening package is also included, along with your choice of two different suspensions that can lower the car by up to 30 mm.
TechArt is also offering various interior upgrades which include a special 3-spoked steering wheel, front and rear center console, special door trims and door entry sills, custom leather upholstery, aluminum sport pedals, and lots of carbon fiber.
No word on pricing, but more pics and the full press release from TechArt follow the jump.
As of yesterday, September 15, VW CEO Dr. Martin Winterkorn has the helm at Porsche. Even before taking over, he was already talking about future plans at Porsche.
First, he has set a goal to double Porsche sales within four years. Current sales are around 75,000 per year, so the new goal is 150,000 vehicles by 2013.
So how does he plan to do it? He is proposing three new models. The first would be a two-seat roadster slotted below the Boxster, possibly based on the VW Bluesport concept. The second would be a second SUV/crossover that is smaller and slots in below the Cayenne, possibly based on the VW Tiguan. And finally, possibly another version of the Panamera.
Personally, I’m a little worried that Porsche will lose their focus in an effort to double sales.
This news is a couple of weeks old, but still worth nothing: Porsche’s German offices were raided by prosecutors looking into alleged security laws violations.
The allegations include stock price manipulation and insider trading. The probe is due to Porsche’s failed attempt to gain control of Volkswagen. Former CEO Wendelin Wiedeking and former CFO Holger Haerter are said to be the focus of the investigation.
Porsche has issued a statement denying the allegations, which can be viewed after the jump.
To continue the Panamera theme, here is a video of Jay Leno driving the Panamera Turbo at Pebble Beach. While having positive comments about the car, Jay doesn’t see to be overly excited. And I don’t think he got the launch control quite right….
Not to be outdone by 9ff, Gemballa has announced their new Panamera-based offering: the Mistrale.
Gemballa says the Mistrale will pump out a ridiculous 750 hp, and will feature new brakes (420 mm front discs with six-pot calipers and 380 mm rear discs with four-pot calipers), 22-inch forged allows, and an air suspension that lowers the car 40 mm.
Of course, an aerokit will also be part of the package. While I typically think tuner aerokits are over-the-top, I actually link the Carrera GT-esque rear end treatment of the Mistrale. Also, I think Gemballa’s wheels are much cooler than the 9ff wheels.

Porsche tuner 9ff has unveiled more details for its upcoming models based on the Panamera. The new offerings are all based on the Panamera Turbo and there are three models to choose from.
The PT-55 boosts power from 500 to 550 hp via an ECU upgrade and new air filters. The PT-60 adds a new exhaust system to boost power to 600 hp. And finally, the PT-65 swaps out the turbos to take power to 650 hp, and also adds a full aero kit. In addition, 22-inch three-piece wheels and various interior upgrades will be available across all models.
No word yet on price or availability. Check out another rendering after the jump.
Motor Authority has posted some new spy shots of the next generation Cayenne, and the lightly-disguised test mule is showing of more of its new “smallness”.
While still built on the same platform as the VW Toureg and Audi Q7, the Cayenne will be smaller than the other two models (as well as the existing Cayenne.) The wheelbase will be 40 mm shorter and the height will decrease by 20 mm.
The interior will also be redesigned along the lines of the Panamera interior. The same range of engines should be offered, along with a new hybrid and a diesel. Power in the currently-available engines will increase: the V6 will go to 330 hp; the V8 will go to 400 hp and 420 hp; and the twin-turbo will see 500+ hp. The V6 turbo-diesel will have 240 hp (but gobs of torque) while the hybrid will pair up a 330 hp V6 with a 45 hp electric motor. There are even rumors that the dual-clutch PDK could make an appearance.
